In Brighton, they befriended singer-songwriter Carlie. She grew up loving the stage but realised the jazz hands style of performing wasn’t for her, and instead focused on writing songs and busking. “It wasn’t until I met Hugh and Matt that I found what I was looking for,” she smiles. “I started going around to their house and never left. We all gelled and we’re like family now.” Naturally they share a playlist, which spans Lauv, Mitski, Sigrid, Billie Eilish and Glass Animals.
