In My Embrace started 2004 as a black metal project by Johan Sjöblom (vocals, guitar, bass) and Bosse Öhman (guitar, backing vocals, lyric writer).
Many songs were written but never properly recorded. 2006 the project was put on hold. 2010 IME resurrected. Johan had ideas and started writing new material and rewrite some old. They asked Tommy Holmer (Planet Rain, Rimthurs, Undivine) if he could record the drums which he did. An EP got recorded between 2012-13 and was mixed and mastered in Studio Apocalypse by Jonas Lindström (Ereb Altor, Undivine). At the end of 2013 In My Embrace contacted Sliptrick Records which led to the release of Dead to Dust Descend March 21st, 2014. To that EP a music lyric video to the title track was released March 22nd 2014, containing approved licensed background cinematics from the Blizzard Entertainment video game Diablo 3.
Johan and Bosse started talking about getting more members so the music could be taken to the next step (meaning a possibility to play live). That part Bosse can’t participate in because of severe tinnitus, so on gigs a live-member has to take his place. Tommy Holmer wanted to stay a session drummer but on bass they asked Jon Brundin and on vocals Kenneth Larsson (Johan wanted to focus on guitar playing), which accepted.
October the 27th 2016 this line-up released IME’s first full length album titled Black Waters Deep, which got mostly really positive reviews! This release was also mixed and mastered by Jonas Lindström.
