Formed in the small community of Fillmore, New York by songwriting brothers Matthew and Nathan Corrigan, Tough Old Bird plays modern folk music that reflects the landscape it comes from, a place where the last train just pulled out and the carnival is always on its way to the next town.
Since its formation in 2013, Tough Old Bird has released three full-length albums and two EPs, and has hit the road with a fervor, bring its music to hundreds of clubs, dives, coffee shops, listening rooms, campgrounds and front porches across the United States. Propelled by intricate acoustic guitars, nimble harmonica and evocative lyrics, Tough Old Bird offer a sound that is at once modern and ancient.
Tough Old Bird's third album "The Old Great Lakes" was released June 28th, 2019 and expands the brothers' horizons past the traditional folk they've become know for. These 11 new songs, most of which take place along the battered shore line of the rust belt, warranted a new environment to live in.
