Gerold Huber is a German pianist, frequently heard as an accompanist in vocal recitals and on recordings of lieder.
He attended the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich, studying piano with Friedemann Berger and vocal accompaniment with Helmut Deutsch. He is best known for his performances with baritone Christian Gerhaher, with whom he has had a long association, though he has also accompanied soprano Ruth Ziesak, bass Franz-Josef Selig, mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink, soprano Diana Damrau, and mezzo-soprano Cornelia Kallisch. He is the pianist of a group called Liedertafel and has performed chamber music with the Artemis Quartet. Gerhaher and Huber have won several awards for their work as a duo, including the 1998 Prix International Pro Musicis, the 2002 and 2004 German Phono Prizes, and the 2006 Grammophone Award. Together, they have recorded for Sony, Deutsche Grammophon, RCA, Arte Nova, and Harmonia Mundi.
