The album follows a man who has entered a love relationship knowing it to be doomed from the beginning.
His sense of loss and depression is constantly interrupted by voices telling him things he can’t comprehend (symbolized by the character’s vocals being in English while the mysterious voices are in Arabic).
As the album progresses, the voices reveal themselves to be angels, which causes the character to question his sanity, and then his entire reality.
Our character evolves through the album from being despondent, and in great pain, to eventually rise into pure joy and rebirth.
Many of the songs are polytonal in nature. The angels will sing in a neighboring key separate to that of the songs being sung by the protagonist in the story.
There are thus two separate, simultaneous, but harmonious musical worlds depicted. This creates some rare and rich six-part harmony, not commonly heard in popular music.
The album title refers to the character being introduced to a Whole New World that exists separate and distinct to his predicament.
In the angels’ world, the problem has already been solved. It’s up to him to decide which world he will treasure: that of his lost love and despair, or the world of these angels, beyond all problems. The angels constantly reassure him that their World exists deep within himself.
