“The combination of a magical guitar with female vocals and oriental sounds, along with crafty songwriting and a successful production of dreamy effects, makes the word "fusion" deeper than its daily common overuse.” - Muzikalia (Music publication in Spain)
With his first international album Between 12 Waters (2016), Alper Tuzcu established himself as one of Turkey’s most compelling young songwriters and producers. In his new album Aurora, The US-based Turkish guitarist, composer and producer, moves from Jazz guitar textures to Electronic music and from Mediterranean melodies to delicately crafted lyrics.
Growing up in cosmopolitan Istanbul, his cosmopolitan upbringing exposed him to a wide range of local musical traditions, which led him to study composition and music production at Berklee College of Music. In this way, Alper Tuzcu’s music is a global project with a local approach to his cultural heritage as well.
Aurora, whose sound can be described by some his main influences such as Bonobo, Avishai Cohen and Thundercat, is the result of a genre-bending international collaborative featuring vocalists Micaella Cattani (Ecuador), Danielle Angeloni (US), LASYA (India) and Kat Kennedy (US).
