A couple of years after forming in Istanbul, Turkey, GREN signed its first recording & management contract in 2007.
The band was already buzzing through live circuits owing to its uncompromising live performances and slotted at international festivals such as Radarlive and Masstival. The eponymous debut album arrived in 2009, crafted by acclaimed producer Tarkan Gözübüyük and mixing engineer Chris Sheldon. The album reflected so properly the band's infectious live performances with hard-hit drums, solid rhythms, thrashing guitars, and cathartic vocals, it earned GREN bigger festival slots at Rock ‘n Coke, Sonisphere (alongside The Big Four & Rammstein) and Tuborg Goldfest (supporting Soundgarden). Following the societal tumult Turkey went through in the next decade, the band wrote new material that in 2019 caught the attention of Ferment Records, leading to a new recording contract. Now more crafty, mature, narrative and concise in songwriting, the trio of Nedim Zakuto (Vox/Keys/Guitar), Can Karamustafaoğlu (Drums) and Hakan Şeremetoğlu (Guitars) delivered insidiously melodic songs w/ poignant lyrics. This repertoire was produced, recorded & mixed by versatile musician Görkem Karabudak for 'Mevsimsiz İklimler' ('Seasonless Climates') - the new album released in December 2020 on Ferment Records . Both singles off the album, "Son Günüm" & "Geri Dönmez", managed to reach top playlist positions upon their release and receive popular praise.
