Enad and Shiva met in kindergarten at Westpark elementary. Enad, a stubborn brute with a heart of gold, and Shiva, the silent mischief maker, were best friends by 1st grade.
After a bitchin’ year in the same 3rd grade classroom, the system separated the duo by placing shiva in advanced classes. Absence really did make the heart grow fonder as their camaraderie only strengthened. Enad and Shiva spent every recess and lunch break reenacting Star Wars scenes, failing to avoid cooties, and purposefully provoking the authority figures that had separated them.
After Enad fouled out after 4 fouls on Shiva in a high school basketball game, the two were jamming afterwards and decided they were better off joining forces as Westpark. They won the OC battle of the bands two years in a row and disqualified themselves their senior year for profanity, shirtlessness, and stage diving.
Before the pandemic outlawed live music, Westpark hosted electric live shows at venues, fraternities, and co-ops around UC Berkeley often joined by pianist and architect, William Bennett, and percussionist and future army officer, Tristan Forseth. Enad, aka Big Sexy, is studying film alongside being one of the heaviest hitting, hard-partying drummers of his time. Shiva, aka the Shahman, plans to use his musical fingers and the power of his voice to perform surgeries and destroy evil. This is the soulful sound of a lifetime of brotherhood and attempting to question the forces of nature that act upon us.
