Josh McCausland is a composer based in Chicago, IL. He started playing music at the age of 15 when he picked up a guitar and a Stevie Ray Vaughan album.
He found cinematic music compelling throughout his teen years and throughout college but pursued a career as a filmmaker. He started his own company called iQ flicks, while in college. It wasn’t until 2018 that he started playing piano and score his first short film, Chaos Theory (2018). The film won best original score at the Webdance Film Festival and Best Experimental film award at the LA Live Film Festival.

Later that year he self-produced, directed and scored another film called, Anamnesis (2018).

Josh is in a collaborative ambient project with Eric Setterlund. The two teamed up in 2018 to form the band, Signal Mountain. They released their first single Chambers in the fall of 2018 and then their first album Familiar Trails February of 2019.

2019 was a busy year with his feature film score for Alan and the fullness of Time (2019), his first EP, Karpman's Triangle and his debut Piano Solo’s album, Unaccompanied Melodies, Vol. 1.
