Zelma Stone is the music project of Chloe Zelma Studebaker (San Francisco). Her debut EP ‘Layla’ channels grief and pain into a dreamy soundscape of empowering arrangements and addictive melodies invoking Big Thief, Angel Olsen and Jefferson Airplane–a few of Zelma's major influences.
‘Layla’ was recorded at Light Rail Studios with Honey House Records in San Francisco, released in early 2019, and named after Chloe’s dog. Chloe wrote these songs after a handful of losses, including the death of her brother, Layla’s original owner, Brett. A few of Chloe's dear friends and collaborators play on this record: Kevin Fielding (Lead Guitar), Jake Kissner (Drums), Haley Pan (bass), and Julie Williams (Keys).
