Nick Latham is a bass player from Blackpool in the UK. He first picked up the bass at age 12 and instantly became obsessed with the instrument. Thanks to early influences including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jamiroquai, Alien Ant Farm and Muse, Nick fell in love with the idea of the bass being more than the often-ignored rumble of the overall sound. Listening to iconic bass players like Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten and most recently Thundercat inspires him to continue down a melodic path, but his love of classic songwriting has lead him try to find a balance between that and the traditional role of the bass.
He has been a long-time bassist, writing and production partner to singer-songwriter Molly., as well as being a live session bass player for many bands and artists over the years, most notably LOWES.
Posting a variety of different videos ranging from isolated bass covers, to loop station jams, to bass guitar demos, Nick has amassed over 2.4 million views on YouTube. He is also known for winning the Sandberg Guitars contest of 2012, a YouTube competition, with his track ‘Hammerhead’ which features as the opening track on his EP of the same year, ‘Can’t Sleep In Silence’.
Nick is working on a new album, set for release in early 2021.
