Cub Sport are an independent alt-pop group from Brisbane, Australia. In September 2017, the group released their sophomore album BATS.
The deeply personal collection of songs chronicle lead singer Tim Nelson’s journey of coming out as gay and admitting his love for fellow band member Sam (Bolan) Netterfield. The two are now happily engaged. The band has won over audiences internationally with their unique brand of emotionally-charged pop, receiving airplay on triple j, BBC Radio 1, and US stations such as KEXP and WXPN as well as joining the 1975 on their most recent Australian arena tour. They have been featured in Billboard, Alternative Press, Nylon, and The Fader among other outlets. Outside of music, Cub Sport strive to use their platform to speak out against homophobia and continually work to develop and encourage a safe community on the band's social media channels as well as at shows.
