Pop vocalist Allessa was born and raised in the city of Graz, Austria. Initially, she formed the all-girl group C-Bra in 1998, who attracted attention with their first several singles.
They released the album Mind Your Make-Up, but their career was short-lived as the band disbanded soon afterwards. Allessa then became the lead singer of the pop band Rapublic, who became known for their covers of Italian classics. As that project dissolved, she moved to Spain and spent the time there singing and touring in cover bands. In the summer of 2006, she was offered a record deal with Sony/BMG Austria, and began recording her first solo long-player, Samstag Nacht. The album was released in 2007 and featured the lead single "Der Himmel Weint Heute Nacht (The Sky Weeps Tonight)" which reached number 17 in the German Singles chart. In 2012, Allessa finished her self-titled second album, which went to number 19 in the Austrian album charts. ~James Pearce
