Pulling influence from the current decade’s Northeast emo scene, Condado provides its take on the sound through punchy, agile percussion, dancing guitar riffs, dense chords, and roaring bass lines. The members have extensive backgrounds in grade school concert/jazz/marching band, and use this to add stops, meter changes, and other rhythmic nuances to further distinguish their sound. Lyrics are always starting a conversation, as frontman Birdie Velazquez always has a story to tell.
“Our music is written in order to show everyone that we have been able to surpass the hardships in our life by being outspoken about times that have made us feel vulnerable. We write music for everybody, but being that we’re minorities, that’s just one more way to connect with people; that’s a couple more stories I can tell.” - Birdie Velazquez
