Not one to be shackled to any one genre, Cox runs the gamut of musical styles: from Irish whistle infused folk ballads to heart-pounding rock anthems, delicate, sorrowful piano melodies to fun, jaunty bluegrass tunes, and deep, swirling electronic prog rock pieces, Cox swings wildly from one emotional story to the next, using her provocative voice to thread it all together.
A classically trained vocalist, Cox grew up singing solos for her church and school choirs. At age 14, she taught herself how to play guitar, and by 16 she was a regular at the open mic nights in her home state of Delaware. In college, she started the award-winning Celtic Fusion band Mythica and went on to open for several big name acts including the Spin Doctors, Sister Hazel, Smash Mouth, Three Dog Night, Black 47, the Makem and Spain Brothers, the Screaming Orphans, and Celtic Crossroads.
