After four years of recording, touring and performing with his band The Creases, two years off the drink, and countless hours of writing and learning about himself, Jarrod Mahon is ready to introduce Emerson Snowe with his first official release through his debut EP: an unconventional collection of indie-pop songs that range from triumphant and joyous, to frank and sorrowful, often within the same song.
With this new found outlook Jarrod writes a song a day, every day, sometimes for months at a time. In a fortnight he can write an album worth of songs. His debut EP is four of them, but there are hundreds of others, sitting and waiting. What is most impressive is that across all of these songs, Emerson Snowe sounds like nothing and no one else. Simply because the songs are him, Jarrod Mahon. Humble, unconventional and self-assured.
Across 2017/18, Emerson Snowe performed alongside the likes of King Krule, Ariel Pink and
GUM. On stage Jarrod has been known to perform as Emerson Snowe with nothing but a
microphone and a cassette tape. Of course he does, it’s just him.
