Ice Hokku's special concert sound is a cool electronic acoustic sound design and emotional vocals mixing various styles. The duo's surprisingly powerful sound is achieved by using loop stations that continuously record sound layers during a show in real time.
The musicians sing in English and simple Hebrew. A beautiful and gawky hybrid of a global citizen who changed several countries, lifestyles, and languages searching for an identity. It is music for the seeker, combining the cultures and philosophies of irreconcilable enemies.
The founders and musicians of the Ice Hokku project:
Julia Garnitz - spontaneity, emotional content, visual art for performances.
Anton Dmitriev - reason, calculation, production, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist.
Ice Hokku was created in 2016 in Russia, and it has been based in Israel since 2017. In Israel, the duo released 5 singles, a live EP in audio and video format, a debut clip for the song “Together Alone”, live-looping video “Sunset live in Tel-Aviv” and is currently working on a studio album and a new video, collaborating with sound producers and directors from Ukraine and Israel.
