Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Lebanese and Spanish parents, Cecilia Villar Eljuri is a leading artivist living in NYC who tours internationally sharing her music and message of empowerment. Touted as one of the top Latinx guitar players in the world, Eljuri navigates through the rhythmic landscapes of her heritage; rock and pop-punk, bolero, reggae, and Afro-Cuban, all presented with an elegant and socially conscious voice. Her personal guitar style is influenced by the likes of greats including Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Carlos Santana, Nancy Wilson, BB King and Bonnie Raitt.
To date Eljuri has released four critically acclaimed solo albums: “En Paz” (2008), “Fuerte” (2012), “La Lucha” (2016) and "Resiste" (2019).
