Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Lebanese and Spanish parents, Cecilia Villar Eljuri was raised in New York City. This passionate singer, song-writer and guitarist has toured all over North and South America.
Eljuri has released three critically acclaimed solo albums to date: “En Paz” (2008), “Fuerte” (2012) and “La Lucha” (2016). Eljuri demonstrates her maturity as an award-winning songwriter; composing in Spanish and English and exploring different rhythmic horizons. Touted as one of the best Latina electric guitar players in the world, she has developed her personal guitar style influenced by the likes of greats including Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Carlos Santana, Nancy Wilson, BB King and Bonnie Raitt. Performing as a power-trio, Eljuri navigates through musical landscapes ranging from rock and pop-punk, bolero, reggae, and Afro-Cuban rhythms, all presented with an elegant and empowered female voice.
