Ismael Alcina (1986 Cádiz, Andalucia, Spain) is an Andalusian bassist, teacher and composer based in Barcelona, originally self-taught and later graduated in Jazz and Modern Music Performance at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), studying with Gary Willis and Mario Rossy. He began in Cadiz's Folk and Flamenco scene when he was a child. Later, he established himself professionally as a session musician performing and recording with relevant artists on the national scene for more than 15 years (David DeMaría, India Martinez, Rojas, Carles Denia, Lya, Antonio Lizana, José Carlos Gómez, Pau Figueres etc.). Currently he is involved in different projects and also teaches electric bass. As a leader and composer he has already released two albums: Bass life (2016) and Scheria (2020), including songbooks.
