  1. 1.
    Slower Than Usual
  2. 2.
    Love Me Better
I wrote “Slower Than Usual” about someone I met in Stockholm that deeply inspired me and opened up my eyes at a time when I needed to see things differently.
He showed me how I could and wanted to be treated, but the timing wasn't right for us. I remember sitting outside a bar with him while he was having a cigarette and thinking to myself that I never wanted that cigarette to run out. His burning cigarette was a measure of time, and I wanted it to last forever. That moment, just the two of us before we had to go back inside, is what the song is about.
“Slower Than Usual” will be Ariel’s solo debut but she’s gained a global following with the viral dance pop hit “Love Me Better” which she co-wrote and featured on by Love Thy Brother, a popular Canadian EDM duo. The collaboration charted on the SiriusXM Altnation’s Alt 18 and went #1 on the Hype Machine ( chart earlier this year. “Love Me Better” achieved over 2 million plays on Spotify, YouTube and other streaming sites.
Ariel Beesley grew up in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley (The Valley) and relocated to NYC to attend The New School where she majored in poetry and wrote songs on her ukulele inspired by her icons Robert Smith, Debbie Harry and other new wave artists in her coveted vinyl collection.
