Based in Cornwall, England, Rue is a singer-songwriter who draws upon influences from soul, jazz, rnb and pop -- resulting in a sound that sits alone in it's own right.
Raised within a creative household, she started playing guitar as a child and found her love for singing in her early teens. After studying jazz at university level, Rue made her way onto the local gig circuit in the south-west. Highly anticipated, her debut EP, Blinkers, dropped in May 2017. Her second release and first acoustic single, Mr Claude, followed shortly after. Rue has gained support from BBC Introducing in Cornwall & Devon, making multiple appearances on live shows. She has also featured on prime time BBC Spotlight TV. Rue has performed at major festivals including Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Tunes in the Dunes, Boardmasters, Leopallooza, Great Estate, Little Orchard and The Royal Cornwall Show. She has also supported major artists such as James Arthur, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas and Newton Faulkner. An acoustic performance of her original song, All kinds of ways, made International Show of the Week on the prestigious YouTube channel, BalconyTV. With an ever-growing online presence, her vocal agility and songwriting skills continue to receive recognition internationally.
