Bye Bye Japan (aka bbJ) is an Italian alt-rock, NoWave band based in Palermo (Sicily). The band was born in January 2015 from an idea of the bassist and composer Massimiliano Amoroso (aka Sailormob).
Shortly after Fabrizio Mascali (guitars), Kimberly Mangano (vocals) and Ferdinando Piccoli (drums) join the team.
Bye Bye Japan have been noticed since their debut by winning several local and national contests and being positively reviewd by local and national press.
In Autumn 2016 the band realeased the first single, titled "bye bye Japan"a 7 inches vinyl. The A-side "Time to Do Something" has been aired on several radios accross Europe and gained a place in the European Indie Music Chart. A video clip is available on YouTube.
In March 2017 bbJ came up with two new songs: "Crickets" and "I Need to Sleep" recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Paolo Mauri. Both songs are gathered in the new single titled "14" also available on 45. Video clips from both songs are available on YouTube.
In spring 2017 the band took part in the Indie Concept Contest in Catania and won the D-Cave award.
BbJ were finalist of Marte Live (Dec 2017), Sanremo Rock (June 2018), Music Under the Rock (July 2018) and won Gallinarock 2018 (August).
The band will shortly release the first album, produced by Daniele Grasso and published with Dcave Records.
