Mirage is an enigmatic purveyor of pure disco expression: a cascade of catchy synth lines, and vocals laden in disembodied vocoder warm with human expression.
Mirage is passionate nightlife, low-lit and distilled into a set of rare and memorable appearances on Italians Do It Better’s infrequent but beloved compilations. “Lady Operator” and “Lake of Dreams,” both featured on the 2007 seminal label comp After Dark, joined cuts from labelmates like Chromatics and Glass Candy in developing iconic label Italians Do It Better's sustained influence on modern music. In 2013, Mirage contributed the epic “Let’s Kiss” to After Dark 2, an expansive and polished update of the Mirage sound, while retaining the ingredients that have always made the project both compelling and mysterious. Mirage will return someday, perhaps with a new mask.
