Last Lions

  1. 1.
    The Sky Was Black
Last Lions first formed whilst at high school together in late 2012. Blending modern Australian indie-punk, with American emo, they've become one of Perth's favourite up and coming punk acts.
Since their live debut in 2013, Last Lions have taken out first place in the Rockingham Festival of New Talent and The Carine Tavern's Battle of the Bands, landed support slots for the likes of Hawthorne Heights (US), Moose Blood (UK), Gnarwolves (UK), British India, Luca Brasi, and Tired Lion, and even found themselves on the Hyperfest 2015 lineup alongside DZ Deathrays, Ball Park Music, and Trophy Eyes among others.
In August 2017, they followed up numerous demos with their first official release "The Sky Was Black." The single reached #3 on the Triple J Unearthed Punk charts in the first week of it's release, and was voted in at 4th place in Live and Local 89.7fm's Top 20 WA Songs of 2017 listener poll. Since reshuffling their a lineup in November, they've landed support slots for The Bennies, Horror My Friend, and Royal Chant, have begun recording new music for their next release, and are continuing to play relentlessly around WA.
If you love catchy indie punk tunes about the ups and downs of growing up in Perth's southern suburbs, then you'd probably love Last Lions.
