Born in Barcelona, the singer has with the alias PAVVLA found the path that goes from folk-ballad to James Blake's smooth electronic music.
The Spanish artist debuted last year with "Creatures", an album overflowing with warmth that opened the doors of pop to her and made her one of the essential references for lovers of the best electronic subtleties thanks to tracks like "Guns" or "Skin". "Creatures" is a wintry and dark album capable of transmitting warmth and light at the same time.
After playing highly acclaimed showcases at SXSW and Primavera Sound among others big Spanish Summer Festivals, big media world wide such as NPR or BBC Radio1 are praising her unique dark atmosphere combined with the emotional lyrics and her brilliant folk tunes. Compared to icons like Agnes Obel or the band Daughter, the 20 year old PAVVLA set her own footprints by selling out most of her shows in 2017.
"I talked about PAVVLA on the All Songs Considered SXSW preview show and getting to see her play on Thursday was one of the week's more memorable moments. The performance was nothing short of enchanting. Her voice is swoon-worthy and the music is a transfixing mix of mysterious electronics and gently strummed guitar. PAVVLA sells out venues back home in Spain. Here's hoping they can do the same here in the States." - Robin Hilton, NPR
