Kevin Chambers first release, The Way Home (EP), showcases a gift for emotive storytelling supported by lush arrangements and a musical sensibility reminiscent of yesteryear's film scores.
He began writing some new songs and was performing live by the beginning of 2015. At a radio gig in March, he suddenly had a debilitating headache and blacked out a few minutes before going on air. About a week later, he came to in the hospital and learned that he had had a stroke. An AVM/aneurysm had burst near the speech center in his brain, and he would need surgery, speech rehab, and physical therapy to recover. Following several weeks in the hospital and rehab, he was lucky enough to receive brain surgery, and it was a complete success.
His second EP, entitled Starting Over, was released in 2016. The EP is a collection of sketches about a 20-something year old kid from North Carolina figuring out life and love in New York City - from remembering an old friend when you just need to see a familiar face, to trying to find the words to tell someone how much you love them.
Since its release, Chambers has performed at Blast On The Bay '16 in Florida and as a Top 10 finalist in the Wildflower Festival '17 in Texas. By the end of 2017, he had organized a House Concert tour along the eastern coast of the USA. He released a film score, The Lightkeeper (Original Soundtrack), at the beginning of 2018, and has been playing shows in Nashville since then.
