Thank you for visiting the Blakkamoore Spotify page! Some know me as Jahdan,
I prefer to be called Blakkamoore. I am a multi-genre vocalist, voice actor, songwriter, producer and vocal coach, born in Georgetown, Guyana. My family and I moved to the U.S. in the early 80’s. I consider myself greatly blessed to have worked with some amazing artist on my journey in the music business; if I mention every single person, this bio will be way too long but I’ll list a few. My first internationally recognized work was a feature on veteran hip-hop duo Smif-N-Wessun’s song “Sound Bwoy Bureill”. I was also blessed to work with the great jazz musician Branford Marsalis on his album Buckshot Lefonque in 1994. I was exposed to a whole new audience after contributing to Guns Don’t Kill People, Lasers Do, the debut album from Diplo and Switch’s dancehall project, Major Lazer. That same year (2009), I released my first solo album, Buzzrock Warrior. Good relationships can lead to amazing opportunities; my relationship with Diplo led to me co-writing on Snoop Dogg’s Grammy-nominated reggae album, Reincarnated, one of the major highlights of my journey so far. I released another solo album in 2010 titled Babylon Nightmare on the Lustre Kings label. My relationship with Lustre Kings exists ‘til this very day. Together we released two more albums, Order Of Distinction in 2015 and my most current album released in 2020, Upward Spiral, featuring Snoop Dogg, Akae Beka and my bro, Alondon.
