At age 12 his first synthesizer opened up a whole new world of soundscapes, leading him to experiment with technology as well as to persistently record, text, and compose emotional sonic diaries, some of which many years later turned into featured songs.
Instead of attending Berklee in Boston, where he had been accepted in 1993, Roman chose to pursue a band project in Korea as the lead composer and engineer. Moving back to his home town near Zurich in 1995, he began his studies as an audio engineer. At the same time he started his own record company with the goal to release his own music. In 2002 and 2008 he released a series of 10 CDs, printed in a very limited production run.
Roman Entity’s sound is partially influenced by 80’s synth-pop and dark wave moods. A modern palette filled with melancholic colors, underlaid with classical elements, woven together in an imagery — almost in a form of a dreamy romanticism, poetically self-reflecting, yet warm — and refreshing alternative pop.
