A 10yo Red Butane was on Holiday when he saw Jimi Hendrix, The Free and Rory Gallagher&was bitten by the guitar bug.
He started playing professionally at 13yo in his cousins' band Gypsy (Eagles USA tour). Back in UK he met (in Onslow pub, Southampton)Peter Green(Fleetwood Mac) who jammed with him& local band there. While staying in Darby Road(Southampton)Red wrote "Anny" the true story of a prostitute&her demise. which he took&played live (voice&acoustic guitar )to Richard Branson who declared him to be"the new Cat Stevens/Bob Dylan" but Red did not want to be an acoustic artist. In Speakeasy(London)&via Scotty English("Bend Me, Shape Me")he got to jam with Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour&Jimmy Page, Ian Carr (trumpet)&BB King. He played 6 week stint with Ella Fitgerald at Ronny Scotts&a few gigs as 2nd guitarist to Chuck Berry. He then formed own band Bad Habits(late70s early80s)&ended up in SniffNRock Magazine&Sounds. He signed to Don Arden's Jett Records where he jammed with Gary Moore(&was tipped to be be next guitarist in Thin Lizzy), Whitesnake&Ozzy Osborne. Then on TowerBell Records he made an album with Snowy White(playing rhythm guitar)with Ted McKenna(drums)&Kumar Harada (bass). (TBR shortly). A production deal with Tony Clark (producer of Sky) which had classical guitarist John Williams&renowned classical guitarist Jullien Bream. Red toured with Survivor (guitar & bvs)& Brian Connolley's Sweet. He was a regular appearance at the Marquee&Marquee Cafe.
