'In the Works' is a jazz collective started by bandleader and drummer Greg McNeil in Hoboken, New Jersey in 2014.
Unsatisfied with the jazz band at Stevens Institute of Technology, Greg formed The Funky Fresh Quartet with David Roghanian on piano, Doug Edwins on bass, and Austen Thien on guitars. They began playing small events located mainly on the Stevens campus, developing a repertoire of jazz and contemporary standards. In early 2016, they were joined by keyboardist and composer Aashray Harishankar. With David Roghanian shifting to saxophone, they continued on as 'In the Works'. In spring of 2016 they released their debut live EP called "Loading" and began writing for their first full-length album. With a number of live gigs under their belt, including the Hoboken Arts & Music Festival, 'In the Works' became a premier professional jazz combo in the Hoboken music scene. Their first album, 'Panacea', released in June of 2017, features rapper X-Phaze and singers Eden Jacob, Mariapia Riso, and Jimmy Sweeney in an eclectic combination of jazz, blues, funk, and contemporary covers and original pieces.
