Jorge Blanco is a Mexican singer, actor, musician, and dancer, born on December 19, 1991 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
He is best known for portraying Leon in Disney Channel’s international hit series, Violetta.
Beginning his career in 2007 as a contestant on Disney’s show 'High School Musical: La Selección (México),' Jorge earned a role in the Mexican spin-off film of the hugely successful U.S. 'High School Musical' trilogy. From 2011-2012, Jorge filmed the Disney series Cuando Toca La Campana, which resulted in him being cast for Violetta, where he appeared in all 240 episodes of the show. Between 2013 & 2015, he headlined Violetta’s 400-date world tour, which later became a feature film released in theatres. Additionally, his music has been featured on the soundtracks of multiple Disney/Pixar films, including a cover of The Beatles’ “Drive My Car” for Cars 3 and “Besame Mucho” for Coco.
In 2016 & 2017, Jorge launched his solo career by recording his first album and releasing his single “Risky Business.” In 2018, Jorge debuted “Si Te Tuviera” and “Escondida,” singles with which he entered the top of YouTube’s México charts. In 2019, he released the single “Conmigo,” followed by an EP of the same name, as well as the hits “Vamos,” “Me Voy Contigo,” and “No Perdamos Más Tiempo,” a collaboration with Drake Bell. So far in 2021, Jorge has been featured on Bruno Martini’s “Say O,” which debuted March 12, and recently released his newest single, "Polvo de Estrellas," on March 18.
