Inland Island is the songwriting project of Avalon Rossignol-Tassonyi. Based in Montreal, Avalon writes relatable, heartfelt songs which ask the big questions about topics including gender identity & individual and collective responsibility, alongside musings on friends and family. Their 2016 debut, Zsa Zsa's Window Opens Slowly, was released on Egg Paper Factory and received a spot on the Polaris Prize's Longer List. Their second record entitled Step Right Up, released in August 2017, was recorded at the Bottle Garden studio in Montreal and features the talents of Ellen Belshaw, Jyotsana Singh, and Nick Nausbaum.
