Progressive. Electronic. Unrefined. Eventually Jazz.
Much of what I compose is thrown together in a matter of hours and inspired by the mundane and the deeply personal. Songs like Call of Kawah and Nanchang Fight Scene are derived from samples that I've taken from my immediate surroundings in order to exhibit the idea that there is music all around us, and that we must shift from simply hearing to actively listening. Other songs like Terrill Alan Mast and The Captain's Origin Story are symbolic and tell a greater underlying story. Piano and percussion are at the heart of it all. Collaboration with friends, new and old, is essential to the process.
I'm told my music is optimal for doing homework and going on long car rides. Take it with a grain of salt.
