Jasmine Kara is a half Swedish and half Persian singer/songwriter, born and raised in Örebro.
At the age of 18, she went to New York on her own to fulfill her dream of signing a record deal. She performed in Brooklyn, Queens and on Manhattan at open mics, in the subway and in the parks of Manhattan, and was walking around knocking door at recordlabels.
Eventually she got picked up by the legendary Marshall Chess (Chess Records) and Cosmos Music and signed her first record deal.
Her debutalbum "Blues aint nothing but a good woman gone bad" was was released in 2010 in Sweden, in the UK and in Japan and had a lot of success in all these places.
In the UK, the single “In the Basement” was placed number one on iTunes blues list. Several of Jasmines songs were play listed on BBC and she performed live in UK radio shows such as “Robert Elms Show”, Sir Terry Wogan’s show “Weekend Wogan”, and Chris Evans breakfast show. The clothing company M&Co picked up the single “Try My Love Again” for their TV advertisement aired in UK, Ireland, and Wales.
After the UK release, Jasmine went on tour in Sweden. She performed live in all the biggest TV shows such as “Allsång på Skansen”, "Let's Dance", "Sommarkrysset", "Lotta På Liseberg" etc.
She was seen in the biggest newspapers in Sweden and media reported widely about the Swedish talent. Shortly thereafter, Jasmine went on live tour in UK followed by a launch and breakthrough in Japan. She received radio listings at Tokyo FM and J-wave.
