The Carbons were forged during one of the worst wildfire seasons British Columbia has ever seen. The day of their first show, the sky was apocalyptic orange and ash was raining down from the sky.
After the ash settled, they released a notorious band photo half-submerged under water along with two live videos filmed inside a local winery. They gained momentum quickly in their home town of Kelowna (A native word meaning grizzly bear) and in spring 2018 they released their debut LP August Ash.
Later that year they produced three singles with Juno-nominee (The Glorious Sons) John-Angus MacDonald of The Trews and the success of their first release Black Mirror recently earned them an international tour in Australia. In January 2020, they released their most anticipated single yet: Sleep. The "escalator of a song" was featured on Global News and several other media outlets around the world and the trio has now shared the stage with acts such as Pop Evil, The Blue Stones, and Sloan. Although their relentless touring was halted due to the pandemic, they decided to release Superheroes in honour of everyone who is doing their part to minimize the damage of Covid-19.
Off-stage, The Carbons can be found shredding some gnar, ripping through waves, and revving motorcycles through the Canadian Rockies. They often end the day with a craft beer in hand, a movie quote battle and depending on the number of beers, a lengthy conversation about current world issues.
