Jozzy knew from a young age that a life in music was possible. As a teenager in Memphis, she built a strong local reputation as an R&B songwriter, good enough to land an invitation to write in Timbaland’s studio in Miami for two weeks. The producer gave her a place to stay, and emboldened, Jozzy started finally landing writing gigs. Her first placement was for Monica, on a song with Lil Wayne — and he just so happens to return the favor with a feature on Jozzy’s Columbia debut, “Sucka Free.”
Moving to L.A. in 2018 was a crucial next step. Since arriving to LA she wrote Bill Ray Cyrus’s verse on Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and she’s landed songs with Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, 21 Savage, Chris Brown and Usher in addition to film soundtracks (Deadpool 2, The Fate of the Furious) and the theme song for the 2018 FIFA Official World Cup.
Jozzy has also embraced her artistry. Having signed with Columbia Records as an artist she is now releasing songs she not only wrote but performs as well.
