Gerry Lane is a singer/songwriter originally from West Cork, Ireland but now lives in Gran Canaria. His gutsy, gravelly, vocal style, (he has been likened to Joe Cocker and Jimmy Barnes) coupled with his raw, powerful and emotive guitar playing and unique dynamic stage presence has endeared him to music fans around the world who come back time and time again to see him perform.
Gerry’s fans describe his live shows as captivating and enveloping. He peppers his performances with stories and tidbits’ of his favorite artists and musical heroes between songs.
During his career he has had the opportunity to work and play with some of the biggest names in the music business. For example: Noel Redding (ex bass player with the Jimi Hendrix Experience), famed drummer Cozy Powell (Jeff Beck, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath and Peter Green), Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Neil Murray (bass player with Whitesnake, Brian May), John Sinclair (keyboard player with Uriah Heep, Ozzy Osbourne) to name but a few.
Gerry had two of his songs “I Wanna Hear You Shout” and “Cryin” included on Cozy Powell’s album “The Drums Are Back “which was released in 1992.
Other musicians on the CD were: Brian May (Guitars), Jon Lord (Keyboards), Billy Sheehan (Bass) John Sinclair (Keyboards), Neil Murray (Bass), among others.
