Catalyzed in a garage in Santa Barbara, California, Uncle Uncle is an indie-rock arrangement. Their freshman release, "Say it" is a DIY extended play that employs melodies that are equal parts inviting and abrasive to put words and sounds to everyday observations on interactions and existence.
The "Jawbone Wells" EP is much the same, with songs that gain a range of inspiration from fictional ideologies (title track) to actual campgrounds in the Los Padres National Forest (Nira), or solitary moments of self-loathing (All The King's Men).
Uncle Uncle formed when singer/songwriter Kevin Cappon approached musician/producer Dominick Burnham with ideas for a project. The two began arranging and recording tunes in the back end of 2017 in their bedrooms. With the addition of Christian Edstrom on lead guitar, the band began playing shows in it's hometown of Santa Barbara in early 2018 and eventually convinced drummer Nick Fields of Pookie to join in the middle of that year. As the band garners momentum and new ears, they continue to record and produce new music in the comforts of their own homes in between a heavy gig schedule.
