In 2016, when Andrew Tschiltsch played his first gig as frontman/guitarist for his Chicago-based alt-rock trio Microcosms, he came up with the perfect phrase to describe the band’s aesthetic: “Making music to question your beliefs to.” He wasn’t just referring to concepts like religion, the universe, or the cultural mindset.
“I was questioning my place in the world,” he says, “and I wanted to spend my time doing what I felt would be more valuable to society and make me happy.”
Microcosms’ first release was the Know My Body EP in 2017, which was quickly followed with 2018’s "Fairytale," which included singles Omnipotence and "Wrapped Up." 2019 brought the release of the blistering single Forget Us and the album Live on Wzrd Chicago 88.3fm - featuring unreleased tracks and a cover of Dead Leaves and The Dirty Ground by the White Stripes. Shortly after that came the "Someone You Know" EP which was hailed for its infectious grooves and angsty vocals.
