The Knitts have planted their flag all over the United States, including music festivals such as BottleRock, Desert Daze, and Treefort Music Fest, along with successful live events at the Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, The Avalon and all other major music venues along the West Coast.
An at capacity show 3,000 miles away from their Los Angeles home at the Brooklyn Knitting Factory and three shows in one night for SXSW only proves the relentless workhorse effort The Knitts put into every opportunity they receive to get their music heard.
The foundation of The Knitts are built upon family and childhood friendships. Brothers Justin Volkens (Vocals), Charlie Volkens (Guitar) and childhood friends and collaborators Victor Portillo (Guitar) Jimmy Jazz (Bass) and Sandra Alva (Drums) make up the quintet who's sounds are “a brash, West Coast take on the guitar-driven yet danceable rock of second-wave Brit-pop bands like The Libertines and Franz Ferdinand.” -LA WEEKLY
