Since 2012, Philadelphia multi-instrumentalist and producer David Ulrich has been making kaleidoscopic, globe-trotting pop jams as Davey and the Chains.
Ulrich's sound consistently defies genre, incorporating elements of disco, glam rock, tropicalia, reggae and R&B into a musical style he calls "rhythmic healing". Almost everything on the albums is played by Ulrich and recorded in his studio on analog tape. The Chains live band includes members of Philly stoner-rockers Ruby the Hatchet, street punk outfit Dark Web as well as Ulrich's wife Kellyn Walker.
