Think of your favorite 90’s movie soundtrack, the one that made you want to start an alternative band of your own (e.g.
Reality Bites). Cool Moon, a power pop trio from Houston, Texas reincarnates that same feeling with a fresh, new face. Frontwoman Andrea Lisi’s vocals, both soft and brash, embodies something akin to Corin Tucker mixed with Sarah McLachlan. The music, reminiscent of bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Jawbreaker, feature strong, crunchy guitars, driving bass lines, and captivating drum rhythms that perfectly complement and create a musical experience far greater than the sum of its parts.
Following the release of their debut album, Postparty Depression (Exotic Fever Records) in 2017, Cool Moon quickly became a local favorite with their fun and energetic live performances and infectious hooks. However, this is not singer/guitarist Lisi’s first rodeo having fronted several bands based out of the D.C. area including Del Cielo (Lovitt Records) and The Bickersons. After relocating to Houston, Texas she was able to hook-up with drummer, Anthony Schillaci (of Western Civilization) and bassist, Brian Smyth (of Hoofprints) to form Cool Moon, a group of seasoned indie rock n’ rollers that know how to write catchy and powerful songs.
