Gaelynn loves the creativity of recording and has released three full-length albums to date. In September 2019 she is releasing her newest standalone single, "The Long Way Around". Luscious violin loops, sparse but sparkling guitars & heartwrenching lyrics make this original song a melancholy delight. This song was inspired by the relationships that take work but are worth it in the end. Musical guests include LOW's Alan Sparhawk and Charlie Parr. It was mixed by Portland-based producer Tucker Martine at Flora Recording and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Robert Hadley in Los Angeles, CA.
In addition to performing and recording, Gaelynn also does speaking engagements about disability rights, finding inner freedom, and accessibility in the arts. In recent years she has used her music as a platform to advocate for people with disabilities and to promote positive social change. So far she's been able to share her perspective on PBS NewsHour, BBC World News, The Moth Radio Hour, and through two widely-viewed TEDx Talks. Gaelynn is currently working on a memoir about her touring adventures and disability advocacy that she plans to release in 2022.
