Electronic-based duo Cardiknox make hooky, heartfelt, dance-oriented pop. Formed in 2013, Cardiknox features the talents of vocalist Lonnie Angle and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Dutton.
Originally hailing from Seattle, the duo met and moved to New York together in 2010 while working an off-Broadway musical, Razia's Shadow: A Musical; a show based an album by Dutton's then band Forgive Durden
. While the musical was well received, both Angle and Dutton realized they wanted to pursue their own project. By 2014, they had released a handful of songs online including "Black Wayfarers" and "Hold Me Down," garnering them positive attention. Based on these tracks, Cardiknox (a reworking of Angle's mother's maiden-name Cardinaux) relocated to Los Angeles to record with Grammy-winning producer John Shanks. In 2016, they released their debut full-length album, Portrait, on Warner Bros
