Bruno Miranda was born in 1971, in Lisbon.
Bruno had an early introduction to music. His grandmother, a former lyric soprano and also a pianist, taught him the first steps in the world of classical music.
Years later, he was admitted at the Lisbon Conservatory of Music, where he was taught Music Theory, Piano, Choir singing, Acoustics, History of Music and Analysis and Composition Techniques. At the Conservatory, he played regularly as a soloist in piano recitals.
The talent for composition was developed in those years at the Conservatory, where he had the chance to have composition classes famous Portuguese composers like Eurico Carrapatoso, Jorge Peixinho, Paulo Brandão. He also had private lessons on composition with composer Sérgio Azevedo and on orchestration with Paulo Brandão.
Bruno's passion for music and cinema led him to write the "Hollywood Suite", a symphonic work, in four movements, dedicated to the American film music. With this work, he was admitted to Berklee College of Music, in Boston (USA) in the Film Scoring course, where he was granted a scholarship by this institution.
Bruno's music is not restrained to a certain style, you can find on his repertoire works written in a pure classical period style, as well works in a more "film music" mood and, lately, in the minimal/postmodern style.
His works for choir, orchestra, and piano have been played in countries like Portugal, France, Egypt, Iran.
