Cherie Oakley, a Nashville, TN native, began singing at the ripe age of three. It only took three years for her to realize that her hobby was much more than a way to pass time.
By the age of six, she had already finished a record and signed with a manager in New York City. From there, she pursued training in musical theater and performed in hundreds of churches, fairs and festivals throughout the United States before her first television appearance at age 10 where she was a junior vocalist on Star Search.
Throughout her teens and adolescence, she continued performing and training. Then in 2002, she began developing her skills as a singer/songwriter in Nashville, TN. Cherie found herself on stage as a background vocalist for legendary country acts such as Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and Kelly Clarkson, appearing on numerous music videos and television shows during their tours.
In 2011, Cherie’s career took off. She joined Team Xtina on the premiere season of The Voice and celebrated her first #1 hit as a songwriter with, “Turn on the Radio,” performed by the legendary Reba McEntire. In 2018, Cherie’s career will push her further toward stardom with the release of a new EP. Stay tuned!
