Cold Wrecks are a punk band from Brooklyn, New York. Balancing the melancholy sentiments of their songs with the playful energy of their performances, their newest release, ‘Savannah,’ is their earnest and frenetic mental health manifesto. Although Cold Wrecks have only officially existed since 2016, the band is the product of a long-lasting friendship and musical partnership. Singer-songwriters Craig Shay and Mike Vizzi started collaborating in high school, and have been joined by drummer CJ Dunaieff for most of the time since. A chance meeting with Matan Uchen led to him joining toward the tail-end of their prior project, and the EP the four wrote together, ‘Tiny Refuge’ (re-released as Cold Wrecks in 2017) became the basis for their new direction and focus. Since the release of their 2016 debut LP ‘Breaking,’ they have established themselves as an enthusiastic presence, with performances that are pure emotional catharsis delivered with a delirious grin. Cold Wrecks believe in putting relationships first and making sure everyone is having a nice time.
