Able’s Army are a band of indie rock and roll revivalists from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, for fans of The Cribs, Artic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand.
Mike Foy (guitar & vocals), James Livesey (bass & vocals) and George Corless (drums) met whilst working together at their local cinema and after bonding over a shared love of Bowie, Britpop and The Beatles, they formed the band.
After a prolonged period of drunken strumming in each other’s bedrooms, Able’s Army came together in earnest in October 2016. Since then the band have worked tirelessly, playing anywhere and everywhere across the North of England, to carve a name for themselves as a formidable live act. As well as sharing stages with some of the country’s best up and coming bands (such as Marsicans, No Hot Ashes and Cabbage) 2017 also saw the boys win the Bingley Music Live emerging talent competition, earning a slot at this year’s festival alongside Manic Street Preachers, Peter Doherty and British Sea Power amongst many others.
