The Summer Rabbit consists of Blair Lucas on rhythm guitar, vocals, bass and keyboards, Dan Taylor on bass, guitar and vocals, and Brett Chivari on drums and percussion.
Cutting their teeth in their hometown of Sydney, they played at the prestigious Savoy Theatre during their first year, among other venues such as Sydney's premier Governor's Pub. After relocating to Halifax, they soon began working on material that would eventually be on their self titled debut, which was released on October 1st, 2016. The album was extremely well received, including a positive review in New Brunswick arts and culture magazine The East. The albums 2nd single, "Jimmy's A Lady Now" was also included in The East's Best of 2016 year end list. Equally well received are The Summer Rabbit's live shows which have been described as "fun, energetic and with a good dose of humour with a smart mix of originals and covers".
The band continued to play live, supporting the album before returning to the studio to record their latest non album single, "Gottingen Street, 1979". The single was recorded at HouseFire Studio One and was released in October 2018.
