Showing a talent for piano and vocals at a young age, he was leading church services and directing youth choirs by the age of 10. By his teens, he was the lead singer for an all black youth contemporary gospel group, the 'Soldiers of Truth'. He was also the lead keyboardist and wrote songs for the group while touring churches and venues throughout the midwest in the late 90's.
After graduating high school, CarLarans pursued a business degree at Ball State University, graduating in 2012.
CarLarans landed in Seattle in 2015, and has since released three independent albums; Cosmic Opulence (2016), The Return of Future Disco (2016), and Black-N-Gold (2017). The latter was listed among the Top 25 Seattle Hip-Hop albums of 2017 in a poll of artists, producers, and community members conducted by Crane City Music. A cover album, The LivingRoom Sessions Vol.1, was also released exclusively to SoundCloud with every song on the album being recorded Live in his studio apartment.
He is currently working on a follow-up to Black-N-Gold, set to be released summer 2019.
